Ok, here me out. Before you wonder why a family photographer has photos of a crime scene let me explain:
I was in a forensic photography class.
That’s ketchup. I promise. 🙂
It wasn’t near Halloween that year so there was no fake blood at my disposal, nor am I a master make up artist. You can totally tell these wounds are fake. However, my Forensic Photography final was coming due so I worked with what I had.
My brother, Sean, volunteered to be the victim in these photos. Truth be told, I had many volunteers when I asked; everyone wanted to play along for this project. I asked my local junk yard if they’d mind. They said go for it. Literally their exact words. I borrowed caution tape from my Professor and got planning.
This was so much fun. I’m standing on top of a smashed car taking pictures of a person who is propped against the car below me covered in something red, behind caution tape. We must have looked awesome!
I’m still thankful to Sean for willingly covering himself with ketchup and sitting against a vehicle in a junk yard while I went around taking pictures of him. It was a great time. Thinking of making a second one of these. 🙂
