Hi everyone!
Today I’m sharing with you something close to home; some of my family photos. I want to show you I practice what I recommend to my clients; family photos are so important!
We have a tradition on our annual road trip to the Upper Peninsula. We make a couple of the same stops and take family photos at these specific locations. We have been doing this since 2014. It is incredible to see how much our family has grown over the years in these same spots. This particular spot is at Presque Isle park in Marquette, the entrance near the lighthouse.
This year we traveled longer than we have previously, taking the long way home through Minnesota (we had a special stop to make here), Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. Our kids are troopers in the car, one stretch being considerably long. I highly recommend The Lake of Clouds, Canyon Falls, and Presque Isle if you’ve never been. Sugarloaf Mountains is beautiful but its a big hike to the top. These are some of my favorite places in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We stopped at Green Bay Botanical Gardens. So beautiful. We took family photos there as well.
With our family photos, its my camera on a tripod (or propped cautiously on a bag or post of some kind) set with the 10 second timer. I then rush back to be in the photo too. Sometimes with one of my younger ones in tow because they wanted to be with me to run back. Repeat this a couple times. I mean, have you ever tried to get six people to look and smile at the same time? Good times. I definitely get my workout! 🙂
I highly recommend doing at least an annual family photo. More is always encouraged! Definitely at least one a year. It’s an awesome tradition and you get to see just how much your family has grown in one year.
