Common Q&A

About my photography

How long have you been a photographer? What training do you have?
I have been taking photographs for clients since 2012. In order to better my skills and perfect my technique I went to school for photography at Wayne County Community College. I took courses in digital photography, studio lighting, framing and matting, photoshop, and more. I graduated in 2016 with my Forensic Photography Certificate and continued on to earn my Digital Photography Certificate that same year. Photography is an art that I’ve always had a passion for. Strengthening my passion for photography with education was just the next step for me.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I am a Canon girl. I love my Canon 6D Mark 2 camera. I have plenty of lenses for every occasion. I also have a portable studio with studio lighting equipment.
Do you work with a second shooter for events?
I do have a second shooter for larger events.
Do you do videography?
I do not do videography, I only do photography.
Can I have the RAW, unedited files?
I provide you with completed enhanced images from your session or event. I don’t share the RAW unedited files with my clients. No exceptions.
Can I take pictures during the session?
I do not allow anyone to take photos while I am photographing a session. No exceptions. I am being paid for a service to you, I cannot do my job if I’m needing to step around you. This includes family members at your event.

Pricing

What is included with the price you show me for my session/event?
Price includes the session, retouching, and online gallery. Prints and USB drive are available at an additional investment.
Is my booking fee refundable if I cancel?
Your booking fee is not refundable. Reserving your session time and date closed that spot to other clients, preventing them from booking at that time.

Do you offer returns or refunds?
I do not offer refunds. I want you to be completely satisfied if not overjoyed with your images from our session. If for any reason you are not happy with the services provided there is a one week period from the date the proofs are viewed to contact me for a reshoot. As for digital downloads, due to the nature of the content no refunds will be issued after the gallery is downloaded or the flash drive is delivered. There are no refunds on products.
What if I want to order extra images from my session/event?
Photographs in addition to your collection agreement amount, when available, are an additional investment of $5 per image.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. Those methods are preferred. I accept credit cards through PayPal. Please note that return payments result in a $35 fee to cover my bank fees if payment is declined. Personal checks are accepted but must clear in the bank before reflecting on your account or receiving your finished product.
Do you have a payment plan?
A payment plan is available for clients who book events with me six months or more in advance.
What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?
During sessions it is very important that you arrive on time, if not early. An additional investment will be required to reschedule you or rebook you. Please notify me as soon as you can if you’re going to be late.
During weddings and other larger events, I understand that not everything goes as planned. I do not pack up before the contracted time and I do not leave right when the contracted time is up. When our contracted time is at an end, I will ask you whether or not you would like to stay and extend the amount of time you need me. If you would like me to stay I charge an hourly rate of $200 per hour. This investment is due before your photographs will be released.

Session Questions

I remember you taking a specific pose, how come I don’t see it in the proof gallery?
You will see only the best images from your session/event. Sometimes images don’t turn out; someone closed their eyes, someone is not looking at my camera, etc. I provide the best ones for you to choose from.
How long does it take for my photos to be ready?
For smaller photography sessions that are under an hour, please allow two weeks to receive your proof images. For event collections such as weddings and other large events, please allow four weeks to receive your proof images.
How do I reserve my session/event date with you?
All sessions are reserved once I receive your signed contract and non-refundable booking fee. I will not hold a date and time until the signed contract and booking fee are received.
How do we keep in contact with you?
I respond to text messages, email, phone calls, and messenger through Facebook. However, I do most of my initial communication by email so please check yours often!
Do you offer gift certificates?
I do offer gift certificates. I’d love to arrange a certificate for you to gift a wonderful surprise to that special someone!

Client Protection

What if I lose my images? Do you back up our photos?
I will store your images for up to one calendar year from your session date. If your images are lost, you can contact me and receive them for a $20 investment.
My (insert person here) paid for your services for my photography, who is your Client?
Regardless of who pays for my services, my Client is the person who signed my contract.
I don’t want my photographs to be on your website or social media, can you keep them private?
I use the photographs I take to promote my business by sharing them on my social media and website. My clients sign a model release form that is included in our first meeting with their contract.
If for any reason you do not wish your photographs to be used to promote my business, you must inform me at our consultation and your photos will not be used or posted. Your privacy is very important to me. I do not charge extra for this.
